Hides are legal by-products of food livestock. We do not sell CITES-listed species leather or real fur. Chromium VI is limited to ≤ 3 mg/kg and azo dyes to the REACH Annex XVII limits; metal fittings meet the REACH nickel release limit. Supplier declarations for the current batch are on file and can be requested by email.

Dyes and tanning agents are used in every leather article. Do not let a dog chew leather goods for extended periods.

06Care and natural variation

Keep the spares dry until needed.

Grain, scars and shade vary from hide to hide, and the colour of a vegetable-tanned piece deepens with light and use. Two pieces ordered at different times will not match exactly. That is the material behaving normally, not a defect.

Hardware is the part of a collar that fails first, and a worn buckle is a reason to repair rather than to replace the whole strap. A saddler can fit this in a few minutes.
