1. You keep the copyright
The photograph stays yours. Submitting it does not transfer copyright, and it does not give us ownership of anything.
2. What you grant us
A non-exclusive, revocable, royalty-free licence to reproduce and display the photograph, together with the dog’s name and the first name or nickname you chose:
- on the pages of this website, including the home page, the photo wall and the product pages for the pieces shown;
- in the technical formats needed to display it — resized, cropped to a tile and compressed;
- for as long as your consent stands, and no longer.
3. What you do not grant us
The licence is deliberately narrow. It does not extend to:
- printed catalogues, packaging, posters or any offline advertising;
- paid advertising of any kind, on any platform;
- social media accounts, ours or anyone else’s;
- sub-licensing or passing the photograph to a third party;
- any use after you withdraw consent.
If we ever want to use a photograph beyond this website, we will ask you again, separately, and a no costs you nothing.
4. What you confirm when you submit
- The photograph is yours, or you have the photographer’s permission to license it.
- No recognisable human face appears in it. A back, a hand, a pair of legs is fine. A face is not, unless that person has separately given you written permission, which you confirm you hold.
- It shows no address, house number, number plate or other detail that identifies a private location.
- It shows no device that works through pain, pressure or shock, and no third-party brand marking.
5. Review before publication
Nothing is published automatically. Every submission goes into a queue and a person reviews it against the points above. We may decline a submission without giving a reason, and declining is not a judgement about the dog.
6. Metadata and location
EXIF metadata is stripped on our server before the image is stored. That includes GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, and timestamps written by your device. We never ask for a location, we have no field to store one, and we do not display one.
7. Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw at any time, for any reason or none. Send an email to support@haroldssswaren.shop with the dog’s name or the reference you received, and:
- we remove the photograph from every page it appears on;
- we purge the cached and resized copies at the same time;
- we delete the stored original;
- we confirm in writing when it is done.
We action withdrawals within 72 hours and normally the same working day. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not make the earlier publication unlawful.
8. Legal basis and data protection
Publication rests on your consent under Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. The image, the displayed name and your email address are personal data and are covered by our privacy policy, including your rights of access, correction and erasure.
9. No payment, no exchange
We do not pay for submissions and we do not offer a discount, a voucher or a free item in return for one. That keeps the wall honest: nothing on it was bought.
10. Our own photographs
Product and guide photography on this site is our own or licensed to us. It is not available for reuse. If you want an image of a product for a review or an article, ask us and we will usually say yes.
